Let Freedom Ring

The crime index indicates that between 1990 and 2006, all crime in the United States dropped 34.57% and violent crime dropped 44.12%.  The FBI statistics for the first six months of 2007 indicate an additional drop off in the crime rate of 1.8%.

“A high percentage of crime in the United States is directly related to the illegal sale and use of drugs.  Drugs are smuggled into the country by organized groups of criminals despite intense efforts by the government to stop the illegal drug trade.  Those who become addicted to drug use sometimes rob or break into houses or stores to get the money to pay for the drugs.  Drug abuse has caused great concern in the United States” (U.S. Society Crime and Justice from http://usa.usembassy.de/society-crime.htm not http://usa.usembassy as stated in the April/May issue of the Overflow).  (Our apologies for the error.)

Yet violent crime rates have been declining steadily since 1994.  The murder rate initially rose, but began to decline in 2005.  According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics National Crime Victimization Survey 2004 (NCVS), from 1993 through 2004, the violent crime rate fell 57% and the property rate declined by 50%.

USA Today reported the insights of two prominent figures involved in national crime analysis.  “This suggests something fresh and positive is happening,” says David Kennedy, the Director of the Center for Crime Prevention and Control.  “Murder is the clearest signal in any set of crime data, and this is a very clear signal it has broken its upward climb,” commented Lawrence Sherman, the Director of the Jerry Lee Center of Criminology.  

Can we fight the good fight of faith so this scripture can be fulfilled?  

Do we love America?  Love her as the nation that God raised up for Himself as He did Israel?  Do we comprehend – America is people? 

Are we weary in well-doing?  Has the pressure become so strong that personal fear and concern tries to consume our time? 

God clearly spoke His mighty prophetic voice as I ministered to leaders of the churches in and around Jeffersonville, Indiana on May 2, 2003.  God said through that powerful prophecy that “drugs would no longer rule in America.”  I have been told this week about young and older people “coming off” drugs.  I have ministered in churches where great numbers are being delivered from drugs, alcohol, prostitution, and all other addictions.  Delivered and radically saved!  The hand of God is moving in this nation!  Move with Him!

“Up with God!  Down with His enemies ! Adversaries, run for the hills!”

Psalm 68 The Message

This war for freedom shall not be as Vietnam.  Brave and mighty men and women shall (and do) have our prayers, support, and blessings.  They will be honored and they will hold their heads high.  Just because a small bomb explodes at the recruiting office in NYC March 6, 2008 only means that we’re winning and the devil is losing!  “Parade your power, O God, the power, O God, that made us what we are” (Psalm 68 The Message).

“What a God!  His road stretches straight and smooth.  Every Yahweh-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him makes it” (Psalm 18 The Message).

Jesus taught us in Luke 18:1-8 one way to overcome the adversary and his adversaries.  Persistant, badgering, pounding faith that results in justice. 

Jesus told them a story showing that it was necessary for them to pray consistently and never quit.  He said, “There was once a judge in some city who never gave God a thought and cared nothing for people.  A widow in that city kept after him: ‘My rights are being violated.  Protect me!’”

            “He never gave her the time of day.  But after this went on and on he said to himself, ‘I care nothing what God thinks, even less what people think.  But because this widow won’t quit badgering me, I’d better do something and see that she gets justice-otherwise I’m going to end up beaten black-and-blue by her pounding.’”

            Then the Master said, “Do you hear what that judge, corrupt as he is, is saying?  So what makes you think God won’t step in and work justice for his chosen people, who continue to cry out for help?  Won’t he stick up for them?  I assure you, he will.  He will not drag his feet.  But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of Man find on the earth when he returns? 

Righteousness, truth, and justice prevails and wins!
