Prophetic Voice

"Be Still and Know"

It is written in Zechariah chapter 2, “The Lord is in His holy temple, let all the earth keep silent before Him.”  We have such busy lives.  We are in a time and we are in a season when we build.  We have come through the gates of thanksgiving, through the courts of praise, into the Holy of Holies with our worship, led so beautifully by the entire team and the soloist, as it were, the leader, the flautist on the flute, leading us into that holy stillness of Almighty God, of being still, and of knowing that He is God.

The Word of the Lord talks about us coming unto the Lord, and that we are as a weaned child at the mother’s breast, content, safe, safeguarded and happy.  There is so much noise in the world around us, so much confusion.  The highest level is to be able to get quiet, to rest, to be still in His holy presence, to know that He is God.  That is when you begin to experience the exaltation of God in your midst.  For the rest of Psalm 46:10 says, “…I shall be exalted among the nations.  Be still and know that I am God.”

The Lord is in His holy temple.  Let all the earth keep silence before You.  And you know and I know that originally, we too were made of the earth.  We are God’s temple.

[SONG:]

It is there that you begin to hear the whispers of the Lord.

It is there when you are quiet before Him.

No other voice is heard, no other word perceived.

But the voice of the Lord speaking so tenderly,

Answering your questions, and removing all fear.

We are His sheep.  We are His children.

We are His, and He longs to speak.

But He longs to be heard, He longs for us to be still.

And He longs for us to know the fullness of His will.

Just receive in the quietness of His holy presence

When you know that you know,

All is well, all is well, all is well.

 [SPEAKING:]

There is one thing about it, you cannot hear His voice when you are talking.  You have to be quiet.  I have observed that in the Pentecostal and Charismatic circles, it is hard for people to still their souls, and to be quiet.  But those are the moments when He speaks, when He gives that direction that you’re so longing for, when He speaks to you personally, and He says, “I love you, you are Mine.”

There are some instruments that take us right into the Holy of Holies.  One of them is the flute through a flautist.  Another is the violin and the strings on the instruments.  Those are the ones that really take us into the presence of the Lord.  The harp, if you please, that melodious, that sound that is really not of this world.  It is of His world.  So beautiful, so beautiful.

We have come there tonight.  We started to enter in when we first began at seven o’clock.  It’s like climbing the stairs of Jacob’s ladder, a step at a time.  You have to come into His presence led by this wonderful director, as it is up here, the leader.  Beautiful.

You know, sometimes I wonder if we have forgotten what it’s like to kneel in His presence.  The Jews said, “I’m going to lay prostrate before you because when I am prostrate, it is saying face down, body down, ‘I can get no lower.  I am humbling myself unto Your mighty hand.’  Bârak means that you kneel to get a blessing; and how we are blessed.  I don’t think it is something that we have an invitation to do, or someone that tells us to do it, but it is something we do from our spirit to our soul to our body.  We ought to kneel in His holy presence, to lay before the Lord, and just experience Him.  That’s where we are tonight, that’s where we have been.  And you know that you know that you know, “all is well”.  When you get into that place, the secret place of the Lord, you know that your God reigns, that He is Lord, He is sovereign, and all is well.  That’s where we’ve come to.  “Be still and know that I am God.  There is no God besides Me.  I am God.”

 [SILENCE]

Just stay in the presence of the Lord, with your heads bowed, and your eyes closed.
